DUSTBORN REVIEW FREE
Thank you to The Book Terminal for sending me a free copy of Dustborn in exchange for an honest review. Fans of YA dystopian fiction are sure to enjoy this harrowing tale of faith, trust, survival, and family. The twists kept me guessing and the characters kept the story alive. Bowman does a really good job of dropping you into this world. Delta is the kind of practical, world-hardened character that one becomes when your only mode is survive until tomorrow, then survive some more. Humanity is living on the brink in small groups called packs, or in one of two know cities. With her home in ashes and a useless baby in tow (so NOT what you need in a post-apocalyptic wasteland), Delta sets her sights on saving her family, no matter the cost. Oceans, rivers and lakes have dried up or acidified and become undrinkable. A copy of this book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I could feel the desperation leaking from the pages. Dustborn is set on a harsh world that has experienced extreme desertification. REVIEW: ‘Dustborn’ by Erin Bowman showcases hope in a bleak post-apocalypse Erin Bowman takes readers across the post-apocalyptic Wastes in this tale of trust and family. There’s violence, but there is also love. It’s gritty, hopeful, tragic, and exciting. Choose from Same Day Delivery, Drive Up or Order Pickup. There are so many ups and downs in Dustborn. Read reviews and buy Dustborn - by Erin Bowman (Hardcover) at Target. The possibility of betrayal haunts his every move. I was simultaneously drawn to him and wary of him. His unflinching faith and optimism help to keep the story moving when all hope seems lost. She is not an immediately likeable character, but her rough edges hold a kind of familiarity that many readers will recognize in themselves.Īsher, on the other hand, is a bright counterpoint to Delta’s pessimism. The bleak world is reflected in our MC, Delta, whose capacity for hope is tested again and again as her losses mount and struggles abound. Bowman wastes no time setting up the dire situations that are the stark reality in the dust-storm-ravaged wasteland that is our setting. Akin to Blood Red Road with elements of Mad Max, Dustborn by Erin Bowman is an exciting YA standalone that reminds me why I love the dystopian genre.
